Quick Start Guide

Get your first quiz live in under 5 minutes

Goal: By the end of this section you will have created a quiz, started a session, and had participants join — all in under 5 minutes.

Create an account or log in
Visit btsfn.com and sign up with your email. You can also use Google or social login. Once in, you land on your dashboard showing all your presentations.

Create a new presentation
Click + New Presentation on your dashboard. Give it a title. You'll be taken to the Builder immediately.

Add your first slide
Click + Add Slide in the left panel or drag a slide type from the panel. Type your question directly on the big card in the centre. Add answer choices below.

Start the presentation
Click the purple ▶ Start Presentation button in the top-right. You'll see the Host Control page with a 6-character session code (e.g. 4T2AMP).

Participants join
Participants go to btsfn.com/join and enter the session code, or scan the QR code on your host screen. They choose a nickname and are ready to answer.

Run your session
Click Next Question to advance. Watch live responses fill in on the heatmap. At the end, a leaderboard shows automatically. You'll receive an email report.

Three-panel Layout

Left panel — slide thumbnails and type picker. Centre — big editable slide canvas. Right panel — slide settings (time, points, type).

Inline Editing

Click the question text or any answer choice on the big card to edit it directly. Changes save automatically every few seconds.

Drag & Reorder

Drag slide thumbnails in the left panel to reorder. The order in the panel matches what participants see during the session.

Use the right panel to set time limit (5s–120s), enable or disable points, choose slide type, and add an explanation shown after answering.

A bottom navigation bar appears on mobile. Tap Slides to see the thumbnail list, Add to add slides, Settings for slide options.

Auto-save

The builder auto-saves every 2 seconds. Look for the All saved indicator in the topbar. Manual save is not needed.

When you select any slide in the builder, an AI toolbar appears on the big card. Each button sends a request to our AI and updates the slide instantly.

Click ⚡ Bulk Generate in the topbar
The bulk generate modal opens with fields for topic, number of slides, difficulty, and question types.

Enter your topic and preferences
Type a topic like "Python programming basics" or "Company values". Select difficulty (Easy/Medium/Hard) and question types to include.

Click Generate
AI creates the requested slides (up to 20 at once) and appends them to your presentation. Review and edit any slide afterwards.

Best practice: Be specific with your topic. "Sales objection handling for SaaS products" gives better results than "sales".

225 ready-made industry packs — add a full set of slides in one click

Open the Packs modal
In the builder topbar, click 🎨 Packs. A modal opens showing all 225 industry packs organised in a grid.

Search or browse
Use the search box at the top to filter by industry name (e.g. "nursing", "cybersecurity", "esports"). The counter shows how many packs match.

Click "Use Pack"
Confirm the dialog. All 8 slides from that pack are added to your presentation instantly. Each slide has pre-filled questions, choices, and correct answers.

Customise as needed
Edit any of the imported slides to match your specific context. You can change text, add/remove choices, or adjust time limits.
Available packs include: HR, Education, Marketing, Sales, Healthcare, Technology, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, AI, Data Science, Nutrition, Sports, Travel, Gaming, Esports, Astronomy, Quantum Physics, and 200+ more.

The Import feature lets you migrate existing content from other tools or create slides in bulk using familiar formats.

Mark correct answers by adding an asterisk * at the end of the correct option. Without this, all choices will be treated as incorrect.

Hosting a Live Session

Complete guide to the Host Control panel

Start the session
From the builder, click ▶ Start Presentation. Or from My Presentations, click the play button on any presentation. The Host Control page opens.

Share the session code
The large 6-character code (e.g. 4T2AMP) and QR code are displayed. Project your screen, or share the code via chat/email. Participants join at btsfn.com/join.

Wait for participants
The waiting area shows participant names appearing as they join. The vote counter updates live. Start when you're ready — there's no minimum participant count required.

Advance through slides
Click Next Question to move forward. The live heatmap shows response distribution per choice in real-time. The response count and progress bar update continuously.

View results per question
After advancing, correct answers are highlighted. The leaderboard mini-panel updates with top scores. Click Show Leaderboard to display full rankings.

End the session
Click End Session after the last slide, or use End Now to skip remaining slides. A final leaderboard shows. An email report is sent to you automatically.

🔄 Re-run a Quiz

Want to run the same presentation again for a new group? Click 🔄 Re-run Quiz on the host page. A new session is created instantly with a fresh code. The old session's data is preserved in Analytics.

Note: Each session has a unique code. Share only the current session's code with participants. Old codes become inactive once a session ends.

Pacing Controls

Control how and when slides advance automatically

The pacing bar appears at the top of the host control panel. Choose how slides advance during your session.

Manual (Default)

You control when to advance. Click Next Question when ready. Best for discussions or when you want to control the pace precisely.

After Timer

Slides advance automatically when the slide's time limit runs out. A countdown bar shows remaining time. Best for self-paced or exam-style sessions.

80% Responded

Slides advance when 80% of participants have submitted an answer. Great for keeping energy high without waiting for stragglers.

Switching modes: You can switch pacing mode mid-session without any disruption. The change takes effect on the next slide.

Co-hosting

Invite a second person to help manage your session

Find the Co-host panel
On the Host Control page, scroll down in the right sidebar to find the 👥 Co-hosts panel. It shows current co-hosts and an input to add new ones.

Enter their email or username
Type the co-host's btsfn.com email address or username and click Add. They must have a btsfn account.

Share the link
A beautiful modal appears with the co-host control link. Copy it, or share via WhatsApp, Telegram, or Email using the buttons provided. A confirmation email is also sent automatically to the co-host.

Co-host joins
The co-host visits the link, logs in, and gets the full host control panel. They can advance slides, view live heatmaps, and manage the session. Only the primary host can end the session.

Permissions: Co-hosts can advance slides, view live results, and manage the session. They cannot end the session, edit the presentation, or access your analytics history.

Go to btsfn.com/join or scan QR code
Participants open their phone browser and visit the join page, or scan the QR code projected on screen.

Enter the session code
Type the 6-character code (e.g. 4T2AMP) and click Join. The code is not case-sensitive.

Choose name and privacy
Enter a nickname (shown on leaderboard) or toggle 🥷 Play Anonymously to use a random generated name. Preference is remembered for future sessions.

Answer questions
When the host advances a slide, the question appears. Tap your answer. Immediate feedback shows correct/incorrect and points earned. A timer counts down if enabled.

View your scorecard
At the end of the session, a personal scorecard shows your score, rank, correct/incorrect per question, and points earned on each slide.

No app needed: The audience page works on any smartphone browser. No download, no account, no registration required for participants.

Getting multiple correct answers in a row triggers animated celebrations: 3 in a row 🔥, 5 in a row ⚡, 7 in a row 🌟, 10 in a row 🏆. A toast pops up centre-screen.

Toggle Play Anonymously on the join screen to get a random name like "SilentFox42". You still appear on the leaderboard but your real identity is hidden.

On the host screen, a real-time bar chart shows how many participants chose each option, coloured green (correct) or red (incorrect) for MCQ slides.

Save and reuse your best questions across any presentation

Save a question
In the builder, select any slide. Click 🗄 Save to Bank in the AI toolbar. A prompt asks for optional tags (e.g. "training, Q3, onboarding"). The question is saved to your bank.

Browse the Question Bank
Visit btsfn.com/quiz/bank/ or click 📚 Bank in the AI toolbar. Search by keyword or browse by tag. Each question shows its use count.

Add to a presentation
Click + Add to Quiz on any saved question. Select the target presentation from the dropdown and confirm. The question is added as a new slide.
Use case: Build a library of your company's most important knowledge-check questions. Reuse them across onboarding, training, and compliance sessions without recreating them each time.

On the audience page, a floating toolbar (top-right) shows four A buttons. Click to cycle through small, normal, large, and extra-large text sizes. Preference is saved.

High Contrast Mode

Click the button in the accessibility toolbar to toggle high contrast mode. Black background, white text, yellow focus rings — optimised for low vision users.

Keyboard Navigation

Use arrow keys to move between answer choices on the audience page. Press Enter or Space to select.

Screen Reader Support

All answer choices include ARIA labels (e.g. "Option A: Paris"). The question area has aria-live="polite" so screen readers announce new questions automatically.

For educators: Share the accessibility toolbar instructions with participants before the session. Students with visual impairments can use high contrast + large font independently without any host action.

How many participants can join?No limit. btsfn handles hundreds of simultaneous participants per session.
Do participants need an account?No. Participants only need the session code. No registration or login required.
Can I edit a presentation during a live session?No. Changes to the builder do not affect a running session. End and restart to apply changes.
How long is a session code valid?Until the session is ended by the host. Ended sessions' codes can no longer be joined.
Can I show the correct answer before moving on?Yes — the host screen shows correct answers highlighted after each slide. Advance at your pace.
Can I download individual participant results?Yes — use CSV Export on the Analytics page to download all responses per participant.
What happens if a participant loses connection?They can rejoin with the same name and code. Previous answers are retained.
Can I run a session without internet for participants?No. Participants need internet to join. The host also needs internet to run the session.
How do I delete a presentation?From My Presentations, click the three-dot menu on any card and select Delete.
Can I duplicate a presentation?Yes — use the Duplicate button on the My Presentations page to create a copy with all slides.
